Post-Publication Policies
Creative Arts in Education and Therapy (CAET) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and scholarly record of all published content.
Post-publication updates may be required to correct errors, clarify information, or address ethical concerns. All such actions are carried out in accordance with international publication ethics standards and best practices.
1. Corrections (Erratum & Corrigendum)
Erratum (Publisher Correction)
Issued when an error is introduced during the publication process (e.g., typesetting, formatting, or editorial errors).
Corrigendum (Author Correction)
Issued when an error originates from the authors.
Corrections will:
- Be clearly linked to the original article
- Be indexed and citable
- Specify the nature of the correction
2. Retractions
A retraction may be issued in cases where:
- The findings are unreliable due to error or misconduct
- There is evidence of plagiarism or duplicate publication
- Ethical standards have been violated
- Data has been fabricated or falsified
Retraction notices will:
- Clearly identify the article being retracted
- State the reasons for retraction
- Remain permanently accessible
- Be linked to the original article
The original article will be clearly marked as Retracted.
3. Expressions Of Concern
In cases where serious concerns arise but conclusive evidence is not yet available, CAET may issue an Expression of Concern.
This will:
- Alert readers to potential issues
- Remain linked to the article
- Be updated or replaced when further information becomes available
4. Article Removal
In exceptional circumstances, an article may be removed where:
- It violates legal rights (e.g., defamation, copyright infringement)
- It poses a serious legal risk
- It breaches court orders or regulatory requirements
In such cases:
- The article text will be removed
- A notice explaining the reason for removal will remain
5. Article Withdrawal (Pre-publication Or Early Stage)
Articles may be withdrawn prior to final publication if:
- Serious errors are identified early
- Duplicate submission is confirmed
- Ethical concerns arise before publication
A withdrawal notice will be issued where appropriate.
6. Data And Record Integrity
CAET is committed to preserving the scholarly record.
- All post-publication changes are transparent
- Original publication details are retained
- Version control is maintained where applicable
7. Author Responsibilities
Authors are expected to:
- Notify the journal promptly if significant errors are discovered
- Cooperate with investigations into ethical concerns
- Provide corrections where necessary
8. Editorial Responsibilities
The editorial team will:
- Evaluate all reported concerns
- Follow established ethical procedures
- Consult reviewers or external experts when needed
- Ensure fair and transparent decision-making
9. Ethical Framework
CAET follows internationally recognized ethical standards, including guidance from:
- COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)
All post-publication actions are guided by COPE recommendations and best practices in scholarly publishing.
